Commissions

I take commissions in both expressionist and realistic styles. The process is quite simple: the client tells me which flowers they’d like, then we discuss which of my paintings they like and what they like about them, so I can get a better sense of what they’re looking for.

I’ll then calculate the price based on the time it’ll take, the flower budget, and materials. If they agree, they pay a 50% deposit before I begin.

Before painting, I’ll send a sketch for approval. The final painting usually won’t look 100% like the sketch—more like 75–90%—as I may make small adjustments along the way if I feel they’ll make the painting better.

Since commissions can take quite a while, I like to send progress pictures along the way, partly to reassure my clients that I haven’t run away with their money.

Before delivery, the remaining 50% is paid, and that’s it.
